“I believe that before a major change takes place it is important to make sure the staff are involved and have buy in. If the staff feels it is important for student learning and they take the initiative, the process will go much smoother for all involved."
2013:
- 2013, NBES designated a Reward School
- 2013 Title I, Part A Award, reward for 2013, this is a monetary award in the amount of $11,700
- 2013 Washington State "School of Distinction" Top 5% of schools in Washington for reading and math improvement over the last five years
- 2013 Golden Apple Award, Pathways to Excellence Award, Measurably closing the achievement gap. Only one elementary in the state is chosen each year.
- 2013 National Title I, Part A Distinguished School (National) Closing the achievement gap between student groups- Mathematics, monetary award in the amount of $10,000
- 2013 Washington Achievement Award winner, Recognition for overall excellence and high progress.
2014:
- 2014, NBES designated a reward school
- 2014, NBES the only school on the Olympic Peninsula to make AYP
- 2014 Title I, Part A Award, Reward for 2014, this is a monetary award in the amount of $6,000. Title I schools who made AYP and not in a step of improvement.
- 2014 Washington State "School of Distinction" Top 5% of schools in Washington for reading and math improvement over the last five years.
2015:
- 2015 National Title I Part A Distinguished Schools Award (State) Exceptional student performance for two or more years, monetary award in the amount of $5,000 with additional funds for travel for two staff members to Title I
